Why I chose NYU Shanghai
I chose NYU Shanghai because it gave me the freedom to explore different academic paths and take responsibility for my future. Although I came from a liberal arts background in high school, I was able to pursue a Mathematics major—something that would have been difficult in a more rigid system. The university also offers well-structured study away opportunities, and I’m currently spending my junior year in New York. Most importantly, I’ve met a community of motivated, thoughtful, and inspiring peers who constantly push me to grow.
Favorite spot/thing to do in Shanghai
Shanghai has a vibrant international atmosphere, my favorites are Shanghai International Film Festival and the Rolex Shanghai Masters tennis tournament.

Fun fact about me
I grew up in Weihai, a coastal city in Shandong known for its amazing seafood — but I'm allergic to most of it.
